About Aritco

Swedish design. Engineering that lasts.

Aritco was founded in 1995 by four engineers just outside Stockholm, and still designs and builds every lift in Sweden — around 3,000 a year, installed in more than 60 countries. They specialise in one thing: screw-and-nut driven home and platform lifts. No hydraulics, no oil, no machine room — just a patented drive system reliable enough that Aritco backs it for ten years, alongside an industry-first five-year warranty on the whole lift.

What makes Aritco different is that their lifts are designed to be seen. The Aritco HomeLift's backlit DesignWall — artwork by Scandinavian designers behind glass — turned the home lift from something you hide into a centrepiece. The same design thinking runs through the space-saving HomeLift Compact, which fits a real lift into the footprint of an armchair, and the wheelchair-accessible HomeLift Access.

For public and commercial buildings, the PublicLift Access brings the same engineering to schools, shops and offices — indoors or out — while the fully automatic Aritco 9000 cabin lift gives busy buildings one-touch operation with platform-lift installation costs. Lifts are 95% recyclable, and every model connects to the SmartLift app.

The patented screw-and-nut drive — the lift physically cannot free-fall.

Safety

Why Aritco lifts are among the safest you can put in a building

People ask us about lift safety more than anything else — usually for a parent, a child, or the public. Here's the honest answer on Aritco, in plain English.

  • It can't free-fall. The lift climbs a solid steel screw on a self-locking nut. Unlike a cable or hydraulic lift, if power fails the car simply stays where it is — the mechanics physically hold it.
  • A power cut doesn't trap you. Every model has battery-powered emergency lowering and backup power, so the lift brings you gently to a floor and lets you out.
  • SmartSafety as standard. Aritco's safety system — including a safety brake — is designed for real homes and busy public buildings, not just the test lab.
  • Slow and deliberate by design. Lifts travel at a calm 0.15 m/s with controlled starts and stops — reassuring for older users, children and wheelchair users alike.
  • No hydraulic oil. The drive is completely oil-free — nothing to leak, nothing to burn, less to ever go wrong.
  • Independently certified. Every lift complies with the European Machine Directive 2006/42/EC and EN 81-41, and the Access and PublicLift models meet EN 12183/12184 wheelchair standards.
Warranty

An industry-first warranty — valid because you buy from us

Aritco set a new industry standard: a 5-year factory warranty on every lift, plus 10 years on the screw-and-nut drive technology. Here's what that means in practice.

  • Covers defects in materials and workmanship — Aritco repairs or replaces faulty parts, and cover starts from the day your installation is signed off.
  • Only valid through an Aritco Partner. The warranty requires the lift to be installed and serviced by an Aritco Partner — buy and maintain through us and your cover is protected for the full term.
  • We handle the claims. If a fault ever appears — at a service visit or reported by you — we file the warranty claim with the Aritco factory on your behalf.

Like any warranty, it doesn't cover routine maintenance and adjustments, normal wear and tear, faded paint or batteries — that's what our service plans are for. Full terms at aritco.com.
