This policy explains how Direct Lift Solutions ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use this website or get in touch with us. We are the data controller for the personal data described below and we are committed to handling it in line with UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

What personal data we collect

When you submit an enquiry, brochure request or quote request through the website, we collect the details you choose to give us. Typically this is:

• your name;
• your email address;
• your phone number;
• your business or organisation name (if you provide one);
• the product or type of lift you're interested in, and any message or details you include; and
• the page of our site you sent the enquiry from.

You don't have to give us any more than the required fields (name, email and phone). We do not knowingly collect any special category data (such as health information), so please don't include it in your message.

How we collect it

We only collect this data when you actively send it to us — for example by completing a contact, quote or brochure form, or by emailing or calling us. We do not buy or obtain personal data about you from third parties.

How we use your data and our lawful basis

We use the details you provide to:

• respond to your enquiry and answer your questions;
• send you any brochure, information or quote you've asked for;
• arrange a survey, visit or follow-up where relevant; and
• keep a record of our correspondence with you.

Our lawful basis for this is your consent (which you give by ticking the consent box and submitting the form) and our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and running our business. We will not sell your details, and we will not use them for marketing without your permission.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with the service providers who help us run the website and respond to you, and only so far as they need it to provide their service:

• Resend — delivers the enquiry notifications and confirmation emails generated by our website forms.
• Cloudflare — hosts this website and processes requests to it securely.
• Google Maps — provides the embedded map on our site (see Cookies, below).

We may also disclose personal data if we are required to do so by law, or to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights.

International transfers

Some of our providers are based outside the UK (for example in the United States). Where your personal data is transferred outside the UK, we take steps to ensure it remains protected by an appropriate safeguard recognised under UK data protection law — such as the UK extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the ICO's International Data Transfer Agreement.

How long we keep it

We keep your enquiry details only for as long as we need them. In practice, we keep enquiry correspondence for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, after which it is deleted — unless you go on to become a customer, in which case we keep the records for as long as we need them to provide our services and to meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
• ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
• ask us to erase your data, or to restrict how we use it;
• object to us using your data on the basis of our legitimate interests; and
• withdraw your consent at any time (this won't affect anything done beforehand).

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you are unhappy with how we've handled your data — you can reach them at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies

We keep cookies to a minimum. This website does not set its own advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not currently use website analytics. The only cookies you may encounter come from the embedded Google Map — when the map loads, Google may set its own cookies. If you'd rather it didn't, you can block third-party cookies in your browser, or avoid interacting with the map.

If we add analytics or other cookie-setting tools in future, we will update this policy and add a cookie banner where the law requires one.

Keeping your data secure

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your personal data secure and to prevent unauthorised access, loss or misuse. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we work to protect your data once it reaches us.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Please check back occasionally for the latest version.
